WILLIAM MARRA

Will is a former U.S. Supreme Court law clerk who graduated magna cum laude from both Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

Will co-teaches a course on litigation finance at the University of Pennsylvania’s Carey Law School, and his law review article on litigation funding, The Shadows of Litigation Finance, was published by the Vanderbilt Law Review. He has been recognized by LawDragon as a global leader in litigation finance, and he regularly writes and speaks on funding.

Will offers clients significant experience from both the legal and financial worlds.

Prior to joining Certum, Will spent several years at another litigation funder, where he managed litigation investments from sourcing and diligence through funding and resolution.

Before that, Will litigation commercial, constitutional, and appellate matters at Cooper & Kirk PLLC in Washington, D.C. He also clerked for Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court and Chief Judge William H. Pryor Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Earlier in his career, Will was a consultant at Bain & Company, where he helped Fortune 500 companies address some of their most pressing business and financial problems.

During college, he served as President of Harvard’s daily newspaper, The Harvard Crimson.
