Victoria Sahani

DEAN OF SPECIAL PROJECTS, ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY SANDRA DAY O'CONNOR COLLEGE OF LAW

Victoria Shannon Sahani is the Associate Dean of Special Projects and a Professor of Law at Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.  She is also the Director of the university-wide Faculty Inclusion Research for System Transformation (FIRST) Initiative examining race and inclusion among faculty at ASU.  Prior to academia, Dean Sahani served for five years as Deputy Director of Arbitration and ADR in North America for the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in New York. 

Dean Sahani holds several leadership positions, including Chair of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA) Academic Council; Co-Chair of the Academic Subcommittee of the United States Council for International Business (USCIB) Arbitration Committee; Member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Arbitration and ADR; Member of the ICCA-Queen Mary Task Force on Third-Party Funding in International Arbitration; Member of the Advisory Council of the Alliance for Responsible Consumer Legal Funding; and Member of the Advisory Board of the New York University School of Law, Center on Civil Justice, Dispute Financing Library.  She regularly serves as an arbitrator, consultant, and expert witness.

Dean Sahani earned her undergraduate and law degrees at Harvard University and is licensed to practice law in New York and the District of Columbia.  She is a co-author of the book Third-Party Funding in International Arbitration (2d ed. 2017) (with Lisa Bench Nieuwveld) and numerous book chapters, articles, essays, and blogs posts.
