Nicole Silver is the Lead Underwriter and Head of US Operations for Ignite Specialty Risk. Prior to moving into the contingency risk space, Nicole was a litigator/ international disputes specialist at Winston & Strawn and Greenberg Traurig (where she was the global co-head of the international arbitration practice). Nicole has appeared before numerous courts and tribunals including before the US Supreme Court, various appellate and district courts, the ICDR, ICC, ICSID, UNCITRAL, and the USTR. She has also won numerous awards and honors when she was a practicing lawyer. In between leaving “big law” and joining the insurance space, Nicole was an Investment Manager at Validity Finance, where she supervised and advised on litigation matters including performing due diligence and underwriting portfolios of cases. As a funder, she worked with all aspects of litigation insurance, including ATE, judgment protection, contingency risk insurance, and capital protection insurance.
