Graduated from Cumberland Law School in 1988. Since 1988 he practiced law with his partner, Robert Bunch, for 30 years. Bunch & James was a regional civil
litigation firm representing clients in over 15 states in cases involving disability, products liability, explosion and fire injuries, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, business litigation and toxic torts.

In 2020, he opened his own firm, Joey James Attorney at Law, LLC and is prosecuting toxic tort litigation nationwide. With his years of experience, and his
original team he has tripled in size with additions of scientific, marketing, and legal personnel, along with experts and toxicologists at the top of their field. Social media and documentary film making play a strategic role in the development and prosecution of the Toxic Tort work the firm now specializes in.

He is a graduate of the Gerry Spence National Trial College and the American Association for Justice Deposition College.

He has been a featured speaker on multiple occasions at the AAJ National Convention. He has also been a featured speaker at Mass Torts Made Perfect Las
Vegas Convention, Nebraska Trial Lawyers Association Convention, Southern Trial Lawyers Association, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Alabama Association for Justice, and as a general CLE speaker across the United States.

He has tried 57 jury trials in the State and Federal Courts, taken over 1000 depositions and over 250 corporate witness depositions. He has been lead trial
counsel in seven regional and mass tort projects.

He was lead counsel in a national toxic tort project against one of the largest chemical companies in the world and brought his sick and dying clients a multi-million-dollar settlement. This settlement is one of the largest per client settlements in US personal injury history. He has written and produced documentary films in support of his litigation projects. He is currently a member of the litigation team in the Blue Cross & Blue Shield Antitrust National MDL. This is one of the largest antitrust litigations in US history.

His project and litigation work has been featured on CBS’s 60 Minutes and NBC’s Dateline.
